Frequently asked questions

These are the questions that come up in the first email. If yours is not here, just ask.

Ordering

What is the smallest run you take on?
It depends on the garment: a simple dress is not the same as a lined, quilted jacket. Tell us what you want made and how many pieces, and we will tell you whether it fits our capacity.
Do I need a pattern, or is a sample garment enough?
Either works. If you have a finished pattern we take it in and check it. If you do not, we draft one from a sample garment or a technical drawing, then grade it across your size range.
Do you source the fabric, or do I supply it?
Both are possible. Most clients supply their own fabric and trims so that they control the quality. If you would rather we handled sourcing, say so when you ask for a quote.
What does it cost?
It depends on the design, the fabric, the construction and the quantity. A lined jacket is far more machine time than an unlined dress. We can give a real figure once we see the spec or a sample.

Production

Do you make a sample before the production run?
Yes, and we insist on it. We always make one piece for approval, and production does not start until you sign it off. That way a problem shows up on the first garment rather than the two hundredth.
What fabrics do you work with?
Woven fabrics: linen, wool, mottled cloth, houndstooth and checks, and technical shell fabrics. For lining we use satin and technical lining fabric, including quilted interlining.
What garments do you make?
Tailored outerwear: jackets, blazers, dresses, technical and quilted pieces. We also make trousers, skirts, workwear and uniforms, in both women's and men's fits. We are not set up for knitted or circular-knit jersey.
Do you pattern match on printed and checked fabric?
Yes. Stripes, checks and houndstooth are marked and cut with pattern matching. It uses more fabric, so it is worth mentioning when you ask for a quote.
How do you check quality?
Every single piece is looked at before it leaves. Visual inspection and measurement against the approved sample. Anything that deviates is corrected or pulled.

Working together

What are your lead times?
They depend on the garment, the quantity and our current load. Our quote always names a specific date, and we do not promise an unrealistic one just to win the job.
Do you ship abroad?
Within Hungary and across the European Union. The shipping method and cost are set out in the quote.
What languages can we work in?
Hungarian and English.
How do we get started?
Send an email describing what you want made and in what quantity. Attach a photo, a technical drawing or a pattern if you have one. That is what lets us give you a useful answer fastest.

Tell us about your garment

Send us what you want made and the quantity you have in mind. If you already have a pattern or a sample garment, include it — that is what lets us come back to you fastest.
